Hardware

Q1. [VILTA-M] Can Freevision VILTA M mount any smart phones?
Freevision VILTA M can support phones ranging 48-85mm wide, covering most phones on the market now.
Q2. [VILTA-M] Can I attach a phone shell, or an external lens to my phone when using Freevision VILTA M?
Yes, however, it depends on the balance and weight. The heavier attached devices, the more stress that gimbal motor will have.
Q3. [VILTA-M] Can I mount action cameras, like Gopro, to Freevision VILTA M?
Yes.
Step 1: Turn off Phone Detection Function in FV Share App.
Step2: Vertically mount action cameras to VILTA M. With adjustment arm and balance adjustment knob, to help action cameras reach balance.
Step3: Long press the power button for 3 seconds to power on VILTA M.
*Due to the different working system between action camera and phones, FV Share App is not available for action cameras.
Q4. [VILTA-M] How do I power on Freevision VILTA M for the first time?
Step 1: Make sure to fully charge VILTA M by connecting the charging cable to the micro USB port on the right side of VILTA M.
Step 2: Mount your phone to VILTA M. With adjustment arm and balance adjustment knob, to help phones reach balance.
Step 3: Long press the power button for 3 seconds to power on VILTA M. Launch FV Share and select VILTA M to get connected via Bluetooth.
Q5. [VILTA-M] How can I switch the follow modes of VILTA M?
Use the mode button to switch.
A. Single tap the mode button—Indicator light is yellow—Semi-Follow mode
Semi-Follow Mode: Pan (horizontal direction) axis is unlock, which means phone will follow handle gimbal moving left and right. And tilt (vertical direction) axis is locked, which means phone can’t follow handle gimbal moving up and down.
B. Double tap the mode button—Indicator light is red—Follow mode
Follow Mode: Both pan (horizontal direction) axis and tilt (vertical direction) axis are unlock. Phone will follow handle gimbal moving freely.
C. Triple tap the mode button—Recenter the gimbal
D. Quadruple tap the mode button—Indicator light is green—Lock mode
Lock Mode: Both pan (horizontal direction) axis and tilt (vertical direction) axis are locked and, phone staying in a fixed position.
Q6. [VILTA-M] What’s button in front of VILTA M for?
It is a spare key for function upgrading. Now it is not available.

App

Q7. [VILTA-M] Besides FV Share App, can I use other App?
Yes. Phone camera, and any other shooting apps are all available. However, FV Share is developed for VILTA M, including more photography functions.

Q9. [VILTA-M] Why can’t I use 4K in FV Share, while my phone supports 4K?
FV Share supports 2160p 4K.
If related datum is not open by phone manufactory or is different, it will be not available on FV Share App.
If so, users can use phone camera to take 4K videos.
Q10. [VILTA-M] Does the resolution of the front and back cameras affect IntelliTrace performance?
The difference between the two cameras is resolution. Resolution won’t affect IntelliTrace performance.
Q11. [VILTA-M] Can I set the speed of the joystick?
Yes. You can set joystick sensitivity, speed, and dead band according to personal usage habbits.
Q12. [VILTA-M] Can I set camera parameters in FV Share?
Yes. You can set camera parameters, by selecting manual mode in setting column in FV Share. Please note that this function is only available on iOS devices.
Q13. [VILTA-M] What is the difference between walk mode and sport mode?
The main difference is gimbal follow speed. The follow speed of sport mode is faster than that of walk mode, better reducing shakes generated during sports.
Q14. [VILTA-M] Can I use beautify and IntelliTrace for live function?
Live function is not available now. Users can directly use other App to live. In future, beautify and IntelliTrace will be considered to add in live function.
Q15. [VILTA-M] Can I manually adjust metering, focus, and zoom when shooting motion time lapse video?
Yes
Q16. [VILTA-M] How many shooting points can I set for motion time lapse function?
Maximum of 10 shooting points.
Q17. [VILTA-M] Can I save the original photos when shooting a panorama?
Yes. Please note that only iOS phones are available. Go to Advanced Setting and select Single Pano Saved.
Q18. [VILTA-M] Where are photos and videos captured by VILTA M stored?
All the photos and videos will be stored in FV Share App (default). FV Share supports users to select store location in Advanced Setting.
Q19. [VILTA-M] What is IMU/GMU? How to upgrade?
IMU and GMU are the firmware of gimbal. FV Share will remind users to MANUALLY upgrade IMU/GMU to the latest.

Battery

Q20. [VILTA-M] How long are charging time and battery capacity of VILTA M? Can I swap put the battery?
VILTA M has 17 hours battery capacity (Data provided by laboratory). It takes about 2 hours to fully charge when charging current is 2A. Battery is built-in and can not be swapped out.
Q21. [VILTA-M] How do I use VILTA M to charge my phone?
It required a type-c charging cable and phone charging cable to allow VILTA M charging phones. Please note that type-c charging cable is exclusive from official package, and please purchase differently.

Accessory

Q22. [VILTA-M] What is the size of the mounting hole at the bottom of VILTA M? What accessories does it support?
It is the standard 1/4 inch screw port, suitable for most photography accessories.


Part 2: VILTA-G

App

Q1. [VILTA-G]How many App versions for VILTA GoPro?
Two named Freevision and Freevision S.
Freevision S is the simplified version, which can only control VILTA. For GoPro Control, please use GoPro official App.
Freevision is the completed version. There are two App modes on the main interface, that is quick mode and standard mode. With the standard mode, App can fit both GoPro and VILTA.

App Connections

Q2. [VILTA-G] The App pairs with VILTA and GoPro through wifi, so what are the steps of connection?
For the first connection, it asks for three steps, which are opening Gopro Wifi,
Paring VILTA G , and Pairing Gopro.
After successfully pairing among the three, in the following use, you can simply tap
the GoPro icon to get paired automatically.
Q3. [VILTA-G] Are Hero3/3+compatible with Freevision App?
Only Freevision simplified version supports Hero3/3+. Freevision simplified version can only control VILTA G. For Hero 3/3+ parameters adjustment, please turn to Gopro official App.
Q4. [VILTA-G] What are the pairing steps between Hero4 and Android system?
Step 1: Pair GoPro
1. Open Gopro Wifi: Setting—Wifi On—Pair—GoPro App—Pin Code (4 numbers)
2. Pair Gopro: Choose GPxxxxxxxx. Enter Gopro password. Then enter pin code (4 numbers) on screen to complete connection. (VILTA only identifies Hero4 wifi started as GPxxxxxxxx)
Step 2:Pair Gimbal
1. Open gimbal wifi: Long press shutter button for 6 seconds, indicator lightflashes green once. Then loose your finger.
2. Choose gimbal wifi: Choose Freevision_PTZ_xxxxxx. (Choose NO for the No Internet Access Pop-up)
Q5. [VILTA-G] What are the pairing steps between Hero4 and iOS system?
Step 1: Open Gopro Wifi: Setting—Wifi On—Pair—GoPro App—Pin Code (4 numbers)
Step 2:Pair Gimbal
1. Open gimbal wifi: Long press shutter button for 6 seconds, indicator light flashes green once. Then loose your finger.
2. Choose gimbal wifi: Return to phone setting—WLAN—Freevision_PTZ_xxxxxx. After successfully connecting, please return App.
3. Enter SSID & Password: SSID: GPxxxxxxxx,Password: goprohero (VILTA only identifies Hero4 wifi started as GPxxxxxxxx)
Step 3: Pair Gopro
1. Choose Gopro Wifi: Return to phone setting—WLAN—GPxxxxxxxx. After successfully connecting, please return App.
2. Enter Pin Code: 4 numbers on Hero 4 screen to complete connection
Q6. [VILTA-G] What are the pairing steps between Hero5 and Android system?
Step 1:Pair GoPro
1. Open Gopro Wifi: Slide down the screen of GoPro--CONNECT--Connect New Device--Capture App--get Camera Name & Password
2. Choose Gopro Wifi: Choose GPxxxxxxx and enter Password
Step 2: Pair Gimbal
1. Open gimbal Wifi: Long press shutter button for 6 seconds, till indicator light flashes green once. Then loose your finger.
2. Choose gimbal Wifi: Choose Freevision_PTZ_xxxxxx. (Choose NO for the No Internet Access Pop-up)
Q7. [VILTA-G] What are the pairing steps between Hero5 and iOS system?

Step 2: Pair gimbal:
1. Open gimbal wifi: Long press shutter button for 6 seconds, till indicator light flashes green once. Then loose your finger.
2. Choose gimbal Wifi: Return to Phone Setting--WLAN--Freevision_PTZ_xxxxxx. After successfully connecting, please return app.
3. Enter Camera Name & Password

Q8. [VILTA-G] What are the pairing steps between Hero6 and iOS system?
Step 1:Set Hero6 Wifi at 2.4GHz : Slide down GoPro—Connections—WI-FI—WIFI Band—2.4GHz
Step 2: Open Gopro Wifi: Slide down the screen of GoPro--Connections--Connect New Device—GoPro App-- Camera Name & Password
Step 3: Pair Gimbal
1. Open gimbal Wifi: Long press shutter button for 6 seconds, till indicator light flashes green once. Then loose your finger.
2. Choose gimbal Wifi: Return to Phone Setting--WLAN--Freevision_PTZ_xxxxxx. Enter Camera Name & Password. After successfully connecting, please return app
Step 4: Pair GoPro
Choose Gopro Wifi: Return to Phone Setting--WLAN—GPxxxxxxx. After successfully connecting, please return app.

Smart Remote Connection

Q9. 【VILTA-G】How to pair VILTA G and Gopro via smart remote?
There are two situations. One is the first-time user, and the other is having VILTA G paired via App
Situation A: First-time User
1. Open Gopro Smart Remote: Slide down Gopro—Connect—Connect to New Devices—Smart Remote
2. VILTA G will automatically pair Gopro. After successful connection, the shutter button of VILTA G can directly control gopro to take photos and videos.
Situation B: VILTA G has paired with App before
1. Reset Gopro Connections
2. Open Gopro Smart Remote: Slide down Gopro—Connect—Connect to New Devices—Smart Remote
3. VILTA G will automatically pair Gopro. After successful connection, the shutter button of VILTA G can directly control gopro to take photos and videos.

Power Adapter

Q10. 【VILTA-G】Can power adapter charge Hero5/6?
Yes. There are several circumstances, as follows.
A. Hero6 is recording, whose battery capacity won't reduce.
B.Hero6 is recording at 64K/60FPS, whose battery capacity will reduce 1% per 10 minutes.
C.Hero6 is recording at 1080p/480FPS, whose discharging speed is extremely higher than charging speed of power adapter.
D. Hero6 does NOT record or power on. Power adapter also supplies power to gopro
Q11. 【VILTA-G】Can power adapter charge Hero3/4?
Yes. When Gopro 3/4 is recording, due to Gopro itself working system, charging icon won’t display on Gopro screen.
Q12. 【VILTA-G】What’s difference among the three choices in App Setting—Gimbal—Power Adapter Setting?
CLOSE-Even if mounting power adapter, VILTA G won ’t charge Gopro.TURN ON WHEN GIMBAL Chargin-Without handle battery or being charged via USB, VILTA G won’t charge Gopro. TURN ON-VILTA G will keep charging Gopro .

Others

Q13. [VILTA-G] App reminds me of upgrading IMU/GMU. Is it necessary?
Yes. IMU/GMU is the firmware of VILTA. After upgrade, more App functions can be applied. Please upgrade under the instructions.
Q14. [VILTA-G] How to judge if App gets paired with VILTA?
A. The light of shutter button goes out, indicating connection succeed. On the contrary, the light of shutter button keeps flashing, indicating disconnection. Please reconnect again.
B. On the connection interface of App, the light of the connection icon turns green,indicating connection succeed. On the contrary, red indicates connection fail.
C. Tap virtual joystick to check. If gopro moves accordingly, it means successful connection.
Q15. 【VILTA-G】How to upgrade IMU/GMU in Freevision App?
Step 1, connect gimbal with Freevision app
Step 2, tap Advanced Setting window
Step 3, tap Info window
Step 4, tap Update in the Gimbal Version part
Step 5, done
Q16. 【VILTA-G】Gopro can’t follow handle to move, why?
It is related to dead band.
The more dead band you choose, the larger range that gopro won't the handle moving. For instance, if you set the dead band at 50, only when the handle is moved more than 50 degree, gopro will follow and move. BTW, do not forget to tap CONFIRM after you set the parameter.
Q17. 【VILTA-G】How to properly choose dead band?
When you are slowly walking, it is allowed to set a small dead band, like 10. When you are doing extreme sports, it is better to set higher dead band, like 50, to ensure gopro take rock-solid footage.
Q18. [VILTA-G] If App appears black screen, what can I do?
Black screen is gopro own problem. Solution is return to the upper level or restart App.
Q19. [VILTA-G] After resetting GoPro password, App always shows connecting. How to reconnect? (This question is only for Android users.)
